Many of SCD’s rooms follow a light-inspired naming theme, chosen over ideas like nature elements or famous designers. We felt that light encapsulated our building's energy. Formerly known as “The Garage,” this room is the latest addition to our lighting theme, known as Moonlight Bay, offering a more relaxing, creative space for our resident artists.

This space is home to several short-term residencies throughout the year, rotating every one to five weeks, providing an easy-to-access workroom where residents can prepare for competitions, assemble their design, host a guest artist (who can build a boat), and so much more.
