Maker Workshops
Whether you're crafting with wood or creating digital content, SCD’s Maker Workshops are designed to get you started—no experience necessary. Join us for hands-on, beginner-friendly workshops that help you learn new skills, experiment with tools and equipment, and leave with something you’ve made yourself.
Traditional Maker Workshops
Held Mondays from 4:30–7:00 PM in The Shop, these sessions cover everything from woodworking and screen printing to laser cutting and textiles. Arrive on time and come ready to build, carve, or sew your way through a guided project. Orientation completion is required for all sessions.
Media Maker Workshops
Offered most Thursdays at 4:00 PM in the Media Studio, these small-group sessions are perfect for creators ready to film, record, or shoot. You’ll learn how to use our video, audio, and photography gear with hands-on support, leaving with raw content to use in your own editing workflow.
Registration is required for all workshops and space is limited— review the offerings below and sign up early to secure your spot!

Maker Workshop: Intro to Lasers - Laser Lamps
Learn the basics of our laser lab through this unique workshop! Make a customized lamp with an engraving and leave with the knowledge to do it yourself the next time you visit our shop at SCD. No experience needed! Supplies provided.
