We work to build communities of practice both internally at Illinois and externally, with national and international partners. 

SCD is the co-founder of the Human-Centered Engineering Consortium, a passionate and forward-thinking community of leaders and educators, dedicated to advancing the field of Human-Centered Engineering (HCE). Rooted in an interdisciplinary approach, we bring together expertise from human-centered design, engineering design, art and design, social sciences, and business principles.
