Integrating Human-Centered Approaches into Engineering Classrooms
Faculty and Teaching Assistants Support
We partner with the Grainger College of Engineering (GCOE) to advance two of the college’s core goals: building leaders with the skills, know-how, and aptitude to tackle 21st-century challenges and driving innovation in engineering education.
We support faculty and teaching assistants by providing research-supported instructional tools that foster the integration of Human-Centered Design practices in engineering courses and prepare students to lead in a rapidly changing world.
We Offer:
Affiliates Program
Opportunity to collaborate with UIUC faculty members from GCOE and other departments on campus on projects related to Human-Centered Design
TA training
60-minute session that introduces TA to the role of Human-Centered Design in engineering and ways to integrate it in courses. This happens at the start of every semester through CITL’s Grad Academy.
Requested Workshops
Engage students with Human-Centered Design activities and practices.
Resources
A set of tools that can be used to teach students about Human-Centered Design and its role in engineering.
