Experiential Learning
To fully understand human-centered design, nothing takes the place of immersive, real-world, get-your-hands-dirty experience.
It takes time and effort to get in the mindset of using HCD and explore problem-solving in a holistic way. To get comfortable with using HCD in real-world situations, our student teams are given a chance to try out the process as part of their work.
Research Scholars
The Research Assistants and Assessment team play a critical role in advancing the Siebel Center for Design mission by performing essential human-centered design research, data collection, and analysis.
Teaching Scholars
Teaching Assistants and the Academic Programs team support SCD classes, workshops, and retreats, and develop custom content to help groups apply HCD in their own work.
SCD Summer Interns
The SCD Summer Intern program is a deep-dive experience into human-centered design, which allows student teams to learn more about design thinking through projects, training, and interdepartmental collaboration.
The Concierge
Students working as concierges explore customer service and experience design through their daily interactions with guests and the Center, and prototype their ideas through interdisciplinary projects.
Lab & Studio Attendants
Students working in the Shop, Media Studio, and Labs are encouraged to learn new equipment and processes through creating alongside our guests, and HCD projects focused on improving the user-experience.
Design & Experience
Students working in the Graphic Design Studio tell our stories using visual communication and experience design while learning how to create impactful content and experiences for a variety of channels and audiences.
