Meet the 2026-27 Marketing Team!

The Concierge Team at Siebel Center for Design is a student-powered group that plays a vital role in shaping how people experience SCD. This semester, the Center is welcoming six new members to the Marketing Team. This team will be in charge of running SCD’s social media pages, generating promotional materials, and photographing/documenting the building’s events. They are the forward faces of our brand that reflect and convey our values of creativity, inclusivity, and human-centered design.

Ally Sugita 

Ally is a Freshman from Oak Park, IL, studying Graphic Design & Information Sciences. She joined the team this year as a graphic design intern. She hopes to learn more about the UX field and grow her graphic design skills during her time here. SCD is her favorite building on campus, and she loves being a part of the team that helps make it special. Ally is most excited to make new friends this year and is looking forward to visiting all the cafes around campus.

Fun Fact: Ally’s favorite movie is Descendants 2.

 

 

Destiny Plata

Destiny is a Junior from Chicago studying Graphic Design. She joined the marketing team this year after previously working on the programming concierge. She loves working at SCD because she gets to practice genuine empathy while helping people learn all about human-centered design. Destiny is excited to start a new chapter this semester, strengthening the bonds and friendships she’s already made here, plus taking on all the fun stuff like Barn Dances. 

Fun Fact: Destiny has three cats named Nilo, Babycat, and Lucy. 

 

 

 

Elise Fey 

Elise is a Sophomore from Glen Ellyn, IL, studying  Graphic Design with a minor in advertising.  She joined the marketing team this year as a graphic design intern because she wants real graphic design experience while being surrounded by other people passionate about design and marketing. She is most excited about continuing to photograph for the Collective Magazine this year, as well as leading as president of Noble Print Club. 

Fun Fact: Elise played the trumpet throughout middle and high school!

 

 

 

Jahzara Norris

Jahzara is a Senior from Bloomington, Illinois, studying Journalism and Creative Writing with a minor in Data Science. This is her second year on the Marketing Team, and she is excited to continue to practice and build on her photography skills and create fun and entertaining social media videos to promote SCD and its events. She is most excited for her Literary Editing class this semester because she has an interest in pursuing a career in publishing. 

Fun Fact: Jahzara enjoys creating her own nail art. 

 

Kymira Parker

Kymira is a Senior from Joliet, Illinois, studying Industrial Design with a minor in Business. This is her third year working at SCD. She is in charge of running and updating our website, home to all things human-centered design and building information, along with supporting the Marketing Team. She loves working at SCD because she enjoys spending time in the building studying, using the shop, and implementing human-centered design practices. Her work here has played a huge role in helping her grow both as a designer and as a professional. She is excited to take everything she’s learned working here and apply it towards a future career in UX design consulting. She is most excited for Halloween this year because it is her favorite holiday. 

Fun Fact: Kymira knows how to sew and crochet!

 

Larimar Rivera

Larimar is a sophomore from Norridge, IL studying Advertising with minors in Public Relations and Critical Film Production. She joined the Marketing team this year to learn more about HCD as well as expand her skills in the field. She hopes to pursue a career working in-house or at an ad agency as a creative or in production. She is most excited to create new memories and gain new experiences this year. 

Fun fact: Larimar is the name of a rare gemstone!

 

 

Maggie Li  

Maggie is a Junior from Princeton, NJ, studying Advertising. She joined the marketing team this year because she greatly admires SCD’s purpose and emphasis on having more empathy in the world. She is passionate about design and technology and is excited to learn more about how they can work together in human-centered design. Career-wise, she wants to work with a team of creatives who are ambitious and can challenge her in new ways, and hopes her time at SCD can push her in that direction while allowing her to explore new perspectives in design, technology, and content creation.

Fun Fact: Maggie has lived in four different states!

 

 

Pihu Chawra

Pihu is a Junior from Sunnyvale, CA, studying Industrial Design and Brain and Cognitive Science. She joined the marketing team this year to gain more experience in marketing, because she believes it's a very important skill to build. She is super excited about the various cultural events happening this year and visiting the restaurants on Green St. 

Fun Fact: Pihu enjoys hiking and being active in nature!
