Maker Workshops
Whether you're crafting with wood or creating digital content, SCD’s Maker Workshops are designed to get you started—no experience necessary. Join us for hands-on, beginner-friendly workshops that help you learn new skills, experiment with tools and equipment, and leave with something you’ve made yourself.
Traditional Maker Workshops
Held Mondays from 4:30–7:00 PM in The Shop, these sessions cover everything from woodworking and screen printing to laser cutting and textiles. Arrive on time and come ready to build, carve, or sew your way through a guided project. Orientation completion is required for all sessions.
Media Maker Workshops
Offered most Fridays at 5:00 PM in the Media Studio, these small-group sessions are perfect for creators ready to film, record, or shoot. You’ll learn how to use our video, audio, and photography gear with hands-on support, leaving with raw content to use in your own editing workflow.
Registration is required for all workshops and space is limited— review the offerings below and sign up early to secure your spot!

Intro to Print Lab - Sticker Making
Learn the basics of our large format printer during this interactive workshop where you can print your very own stickers! Come prepared with stickers you want to have and learn how to prepare your files for sticker-making. Supplies provided. Registration is required to participate.
The Shop at SCD

Interested in learning how to sew? Want to jump into a first-time project that can teach you basic sewing skills and end up with something to take home? Head down to the SCD Shop and learn the sewing basics by making a custom draw-string bag! This workshop doesn’t require any experience, and supplies are provided. Registration is required to participate.

Intro to Rotary Lasers - Drinking Glasses
Learn the basics of our laser lab through this unique workshop, and explore the rotary attachment to work with round objects! Make a glass with a customized engraving and leave with the knowledge to do it independently the next time you visit our shop at SCD! Supplies provided. Registration is required to participate.
